About The Convention

The Uganda Social Media Convention is an annual convening organized by the Uganda country office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, aiming to bring together key stakeholders from government, civil society, academia and the media for a constructive exchange on the impact of social media on state and society to highlight both, opportunities and challenges.

The convention provides a unique platform for theorizing, dialoguing and engaging on how the growing relevance of social media shapes our social and political interactions and changes the way we access and process information.

About Konrad Adenauer Stiftung

The Uganda Social Media Convention is organised by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in Uganda & South Sudan. KAS is a political foundation and think-tank whose civic education programs aim at promoting freedom and liberty, peace, and justice.

Since its foundation in 1964, the engagement in political education in order to realise peace, freedom and justice as core principles to consolidate democracy has been the foundation’s focal area. This has been the basis of KAS’ work in Uganda for more than three decades.
