40 days over 40 smiles Foundation
Esther Kalenzi is passionate about working with young people to contribute to community change with the resources available.
She is the Founder and Team leader of 40 days over 40 smiles Foundation(4040), a volunteer-based non – profit organization which provides literacy and educational resources to children in underserved communities in order to improve the quality of learning.
Through 4040, she has capitalized on the use of social media tools to mobilize thousands of Ugandan youth to support, volunteer, and engage in education programs that benefit underprivileged children.
The organization has raised over $300,000 locally. With these funds, they’ve supported over 3,000, in and out-of-school children in underserved communities.
She is the Founder of The Phoenix project, a brand fostering mental wellness and personal development, and is a Co-owner of House of Penda, an online accessory store.
She possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and an M.A. in Education, Gender, and International Development from University College London (UCL).
